In this blog I’ll talk about the US constitution, or rather about the amendments. In total US constitution were changed 27 times. First 10 amendments were added as a respond to charges of anti-federalists. They wasn’t happy about that the constitution makes government too powerful but didn’t provide protection for rights of citizens.

James Madison took the lead in drafting nineteen potential changes to the Constitution. Madison submitted draft to congress and 10 amendments were accepted. These amendments known as bill of rights. As I understand Bill of rights were accepted to calm anti-federalists down and encourage their support of the new national government. Many of the first ten amendments were based on provisions of the English Bill of Rights and the Virginia Declaration of Rights. For example right to have a gun for protection, the right not to have to provide shelter and provision for soldiers in peacetime, the right to a trial by jury, and protection from excessive fines and from cruel and unusual punishment. According to my readings, USA was a colony of great Britain. Belief and attitudes influenced by John Locke became the reason of independence of US. John Locke was important character whose ideas emphasized natural rights to life, liberty, and property, colonists were also influenced by Magna Carta and the English bill of rights. With the English bill of rights and Locke’s philosophy the colonists’ view of individual rights and limited government power were shaped. The colonists believed in self-governance, a tradition that had roots in early colonial legislatures. And when that Britain threatened these beliefs, the American revolution started. It was the start of new nation with a government significantly limited in its power over the people.

Hello dear reader. My goal for the semester is to graduate without any fails and remove the language barrier. I chose 8 assignments these are: Online Open Book Midterm,
online open Book Final Exam, meme, protest poster, translate a week of slides into a Russian and selfie with a George. This Fall term I enrolled for 3 classes, also I don’t have any classes on Friday and weekends. So I will dedicate each day for each class. Hopefully I won’t fail any classes.
